Elementary Parent Connect: July 9

Dear Parents,

We are excited to partner with you as you guide your elementary students in their faith! Below, you will find details about the lesson we learned this week and a helpful activity to reinforce the lesson at home.

Bible Story: Three Parables (Luke 15)

Jesus told these three parables or stories to teach people about God and His kingdom. In these parables, we learn that Jesus is the One who seeks and saves the lost, and He rejoices when we are found or turn to Him! Read more in Luke 15.

Memory Verse: Mark 6:34

“He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.”

Home Activity: Scavenger Hunt

Plan a scavenger hunt using the above Bible verse. Print out the verse, and cut it into segments. Hide the different segments around your house. Provide clues for your child to find the different pieces of the verse. When the last piece of the verse is found, have your child put the verse segments in the correct order and read it in its entirety. Celebrate the completion of the hunt with ice cream! Remind your child how good it feels to find something that is lost and that God celebrates when His children are safe with Him.
