Elementary Parent Connect: November 19

Dear Parents,

We are excited to partner with you as you guide your elementary students in their faith! Below, you will find details about the lesson we learned this week and a helpful activity to reinforce the lesson at home.

Bible Story: Jesus Gave the Great Commission

In this Bible story, Jesus commanded His followers to go into the whole world to tell everyone what He had done for them. Jesus wants everyone to hear about Him and have the chance to believe in Him and be saved. That’s why Jesus gave the disciples the Great Commission—and it still applies to us today! Read more in Matthew 28:16-20.

Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to Scriptures”

Home Activity: Mission Possible!

Jesus told His disciples that He was giving them an important mission: to make more disciples of Jesus throughout the world. We have the same mission today. 12Stone Church is participating in Operation Christmas Child with the goal of sending 30,000 shoeboxes around the world. Children who receive these boxes not only receive special a special gift but have the opportunity to learn about and become followers of Jesus. Considering packing a shoebox with your child, and, as you do, share that you are accepting Jesus’ mission to make followers of Him around the world! Visit https://www.samaritanspurse.org to learn more about Operation Christmas Child and other ways to participate in the Great Commission.
