21-Days on Unlearning Religion

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus challenges us to unlearn religion and relearn to live life with Him.

Day 1: Topsy Turvey Faith

True religion isn’t about practicing rituals, it’s about extending love and mercy.

Day 2: Looking Beyond The Surface

God did not send Jesus to condemn the world, but to save it.

Day 3: Trading Desires for Servanthood

Serving always involves surrender, saying yes to Jesus, and focusing on others.

Day 4: Leave Your Gift

Reconciliation opens the door for God to begin the work of restoration.

Day 5: Forgive Much?

Does the flow of forgiveness stop with you, or are you keeping it going?

Day 6: Loving Enemies And Facebook Friends

Learning how to forgive others can be one of the toughest acts, but that’s what we’re called to do as Jesus Followers.

Day 7: A Look In The Mirror

Love covers over a multitude of wrongs.

Day 8 – What God Really Wants

What God wants from us isn’t rules-based behavior – it’s a relationship with Him.

Day 9 – Relational Prayer

Don’t shortchange the relationship that transforms all relationships. Spend time in prayer with God.

Day 10 – Asking God For Help

Prayer begins when we ask God for help and trust Him to hear.

Day 11 – Bigger Prayers

Understanding God’s will results in bigger prayers.

Day 12 – The Difficulty & Reward of Waiting

Power and faith is grown as we wait in the presence of God.

Day 13 – Answered Prayers

God sees far beyond our present circumstances and knows the ultimate shape of our lives.

Day 14 – Even Jesus Prayed

If we want to unlearn religion, we can begin by making prayer the center of our walk with Jesus.

Day 15: Why Are You So Salty?

We should live our lives in such a way that people want to know what makes us different.

Day 16: Shining The Light

An effective local church is like a city on a hill that cannot be hidden.

Day 17: Hot Or Cold, Not Lukewarm

Our relationship with God and others should be refreshing. Lukewarm spirituality isn’t appealing.

Day 18: Becoming Good Soil

Uprooting the rot in our hearts helps us become more receptive to God’s whispers.

Day 19: Deeply Rooted

There is no bottom to the depths of God’s love; just more to discover and know.

Day 20: True Disciples

God doesn’t just want us to be His children in name only.

Day 21: An Anchor In Life

Like water for our body’s health, we need to continue reading The Bible in order to stay spiritually healthy.
