Summer Retreat is taking place at Awanita Valley Camp in Marietta, SC

What Happens At Summer Retreat?

Over the weekend students will attend multiple large group sessions that include fun, laughter, worship music, and biblical teaching. Students will also spend time in small group environments with their peers and adult leaders where they will have conversations about what they are learning over the weekend. The retreat also includes time for students to reflect, read, pray, and enjoy the fun amenities at the camp with their friends.

Medications can be checked in to nurse with the required medication form signed by a parent. ALL medications (prescription and non-prescription drugs) must be in the original container labeled with the patient’s full name, the date the prescription was filled, expiration date, direction for use, precautions (if any), storage requirements (if any), dispensing pharmacy (name and address), and name of physician prescribing medication. Students will be given instructions at Summer Retreat for receiving their meds. Individuals that may need emergency medications should carry the medications themselves (epi-pens, inhalers). When necessary, staff may be assigned to carry the medication; however, care will be taken to ensure that the patient and medication remain in close proximity to facilitate immediate administration. There will be nursing staff on campus to dispense medi-cation and provide first aid. All Students are required to have Health Insurance.

Please make sure all allergies are listed on the required medication and allergy form. In the case of food allergies, email highschool@12stone.com or middleschool@12stone.com no later than Sunday, July 3rd, 2022, with your student’s name, grade, 12Stone® campus they attend, and any food allergies they may have requiring special dietary needs. 12Stone® staff will contact you and forward the information to the venue kitchen staff.

All adults leaders are background checked. Additionally, the adults who go on our retreats are the same adults that work with our students week in and week out. They go through an application process before they can serve. We bring 1 adult per every 8 students on the retreat. In ev- ery small group and in the cabins there are always at least 2 adults in every room when students are present (for accountability sake).

If a student tests positive, is exposed to the virus, or has symptoms leading up to Summer Retreat they will be asked not to attend and given a full refund. If this happens to your student, please email highschool@12stone.com or middleschool@12stone.com.

Students may bring money for the Snack Shop and Gift Shop at Awanita. All meals are provided.

We honor God with how we dress at our Summer Retreat.
