As you begin to learn what it means to follow Jesus, you will also have an opportunity to discover your true purpose. Your natural passions give you a glimpse into God’s unique design for you! Discovering purpose isn’t only about what you do for work or as a hobby, it’s also how you participate in God’s Kingdom. You may have a natural ability or desire to build and create, talk to people, or sense someone else’s emotions. Those are gifts given to you by God and when you learn to use them to love and serve others in His name, you discover a brand-new sense of purpose and fulfillment.
Each gift you have—the Bible calls them spiritual gifts—is given to you uniquely and they are complementary to God’s plan for your life. 1 Corinthians 12: 4-6 tell us more about our gifts:
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
